Purpose
To provide guidelines for managers and team on continuity of service for team
members who have resigned from their employment with The Warehouse and are
later re-employed by The Warehouse.
Policy/Procedure
We are aware that you sometimes have to leave our employment due to
unforeseen circumstances, such as your partner or family moving to a new
location. We also recognise that due to limited vacancies, it is not always
possible to transfer to The Warehouse store at this new location when you move.
We want to be able to retain your skills and knowledge and when this is not
possible in the first instance but there is an opportunity later on, we believe your
length of service should be recognised.
Therefore where you leave our employment you will have 3 months to return to
permanent employment and keep your service record intact. The original start
date of employment will remain, with only the time away being deducted. (Please
note that this policy does not apply in cases of redundancy.)
