FAQ's

What is this new policy?
We’ve always had this policy, we are just refining it against our new strategy. Up until now departments may have had some training budget in their own P&L (Profit or Loss) and we will be co-ordinating the use of these budgets through the Culture and Learning team. This a Rise initiative to optimise all our spending on external training and align all our costs across the business.

Why have we introduced this new approach to training costs?
We’re adopting the owner’s mindset which means reducing costs and creating better alignment across all TWG. Better utilisation of our learning and development resources will not only better manage our budget more efficiently and effectively it will also help to identify what gaps we have.

What’s the process I need to go through now to approve learning and development costs?
It’s all in the policy there is a step by step guide. As an individual, you will have a Personal Development Plan first where you’ve established your goals and additional development will be
covered in these. You will always need approval from your leader for your development costs. Please always refer to My Learning first to see what is available with internal learning and development opportunities and programmes. There is a step by step guide in the policy.

Who does this policy effect?
Everybody in TWG

If I need sign off on external learning and development costs – where do I go?
Your leader in the first instance and the training will need to be agreed to in your Personal Development Plan. Please then refer to Coupa to see what preferred training suppliers we already have.
