We have a number of other benefits available and you can find out more about them in the Knowledge Base or from your Manager.
These include:
Funeral Benefit
Through Partners Life, The Warehouse provides free funeral insurance for all permanent team members.
You are automatically covered for $10,000 in the event of your death. All pre-existing conditions are covered except for any currently known terminal illness conditions which were known on the 1st November 2013, or at time of employment.
Besides what’s noted above, the only other thing not covered is death ruled as a suicide during the first 13 months of you being covered under the Funeral Benefit. After 13 months this cover applies in all circumstances.
The funeral benefit covers yourself and any dependent children but not your spouse or partner. However you can purchase funeral cover for your partner from Partners Life at a preferential rate.
Terminal Illness Benefit
Partners Life will also pay out the benefit early upon diagnosis of a terminal illness. While this is not something any of us want to think about, having access to these funds at this time helps enable the planning for a funeral to occur with less financial stress. This may also potentially help reduce emotional stress at this very difficult time.
Warehouse Money & Insurance
There are a number of benefits available to you. You can get reduced interest rates on credit cards; discounts on travel and pet insurance and competitive life insurance cover.

Through SuperLife, you can take up:
You need to plan for yourself and we want to help you access savings and insurance products that are flexible and competitive.
There are special medical free concessions if you join SuperLife insurances (life and disability income) within two months of commencing your employment with the company. This means you do not have to answer a long health questionnaire.

Medical Insurance
Medical and healthcare costs can be really expensive; that is why we offer this benefit to our team members.
All permanent team members are eligible to join a group healthcare insurance scheme run by Southern Cross. The charges are based on a group rate rather than an individual rate and you can choose which type of cover best suits your personal situation.
Whether or not pre-existing medical conditions are accepted is subject to Southern Cross policy.

KiwiSaver
If you choose to join KiwiSaver we will enrol you into the SuperLife Scheme. This is a default scheme which you join automatically when you sign up but do not nominate which scheme you want to be a member of.
The Warehouse KiwiSaver brochure gives more details of what you need to do if you decide to join KiwiSaver. Ask your Manager or Payroll for one if you have not received it or have lost it.
