The Warehouse Way - A Team Member's Handbook - Should you leave us

The Warehouse Way - A Team Member's Handbook (Should you leave us)

Applies to: all TWL team

Should you leave us

Your employment agreement sets out details of notice periods and the process of leaving us, including any restraint of trade and non-solicitation that apply to you.

You should notify us in writing of your decision to leave.

Ask your Manager if you want a Certificate of Service. It is not a personal reference. If your Manager wishes to give you a reference it will be a personal reference and not on behalf of The Warehouse and must not be on our letterhead.

We know the worth to our business and customers in keeping valued Team Members. If you are a permanent Team Member and resign we are very interested in getting your feedback about your time with us and your decision to leave, this helps us to understand our team’s experience in the Company and to make improvements. We have an online exit interview survey. These will be reviewed to help us understand workplace issues and trends to ensure ongoing improvements for Team Members.

Continuous Service

We are aware that you sometimes have to leave our employment due to unforeseen circumstances, such as your partner or family moving to a new location. We also recognise that due to limited vacancies, it is not always possible to transfer to a Warehouse store when you move.

We want to be able to retain our team members’ service and when this is not possible in the first instance but there is an opportunity later on, we believe your length of service should be recognised.

Therefore, if you resign from The Warehouse and are then permanently re-employed within three months you will be able to keep your service record intact. The original start date of employment will remain, with only the time away being deducted.
